a quick summary of important plot points so far

 Episode 1 the man in the mask 
  • Kat kills a teenager at a convenience store for heckling him when buying a pack of cigarettes.
Episode 2 rigor mortis
  • Mortem kills his abusive dad in self-defense after his dad kills his mom. His hands get sliced open in the process.
Episode 3 strangers in the night
  • Kat sees some kind of monster in the alley and runs into Mortem. Mortem passes out, Kat takes him home.
Episode 4 the lamb and the lions den
  • Nasri greets Kat at the door and agrees to help him hide Mortem but she isn’t happy about it and thinks it’s a bad idea. She erases the security footage of him entering the building. Mortem wakes up in distress and attempts to kill himself with sleeping pills the second Kat isn’t looking.
Episode 5 dream a little dream of me
  • Mortem has a vision of his dead mom in heaven who morphs into a monster and tries to kill him while having a seizure. Nasri administers naloxone and he wakes up. Mortem starts cooperating with them because he thinks he’s just gone to hell.
Episode 6 wanted Dead or Alive
  • Derek (police officer training to be a detective) and Parks (detective) investigate the crime scene at the convenience store. They take a damaged security camera, but it seems like they aren’t allowed to catch the notorious “Black Angel” (Kat) even if they find evidence of the crime.
  • Kat and Landon see Mortem’s face on the news for stabbing his dad 27 times. Mortem denies it, Kat doesn’t care either way. Landon doesn’t want Kat to be involved and they fight about it in his kitchen.
  • Boss calls Kat down to his office and is already suspicious of the missing footage, but doesn’t pin it to Mortem yet. He tells Kat not to leave without a chaperone if he goes out again.
Episode 7 you’re the Devil in disguise
  • Derek tells Heather about the Mortem case which is becoming the talk of the office, as well as the tape he’s fixing. Heather has a crush on the infamous “black angel.”
  • Kat starts obsessing over and coddling Mortem. Nasri and Landon think this is Kat’s way of avoiding the “no pets” rule, since all of the stray dogs he’s picked up have been killed by their boss. But stray people aren’t allowed either.
  • Derek fixes the tape and shows heather footage of Kat killing the random teenager. She seems disappointed. On her way home she’s attacked by a stalker but manages to get away by hitting him in the head with a can of iced tea. She’s getting more and more disillusioned by humanity.
  • Kat reluctantly leaves a sleeping Mortem with Nasri while he goes out to complete his next mission.
Episode 8 holding out for a hero
  • Ayden helps lure their target into a dingy bar bathroom. The target (Charlie) frantically begs Kat for atonement. Kat tell him that rapists don’t get atonement and shoots him in the head, tears open his abdomen, and eats his intestines. He throws up black bile and has an altercation with a “monster” in the mirror that looks a lot like him. After getting glass shards in his hand from punching the mirror, his wounds heal almost immediately.
  • They run into their target’s partner in crime ( Michael ) who passes out when he sees Kat. Kat considers killing him too, but Ayden won’t let him. Ayden and Kat drive home on his motorcycle.
Episode 9 live and let die
  • Mortem dreams about his 18th birthday and how disappointed his parents are that he didn’t apply to college. The dream gets more and more distorted as he cuts into the cake and guts come out, his mom’s head falls off, and his dad’s face starts to melt away as they scream at each other about kicking him out of the house once the summer ends.
  • He wakes up to Nasri going through Kat’s secret cheesy romance movie stash. Kat and Ayden come back and they all have a movie night. It is revealed that Kat and Landon used to date and they don’t invite him. Nasri and Ayden leave to let the boys cuddle on the couch. Mortem intends to manipulate Kat into liking him to let him stay there, but he’s obviously getting attached and isn’t used to being treated well.
Episode 10 dog eat dog
  • Michael tries to report the body to the police, but quickly realizes the key to their safe was still in Charlie’s pocket and goes in to retrieve it. The body is missing and the only thing there is a pile of bloody clothes. When he tries to go through the clothes, a strange humanoid monster appears in the shape of his dead partner, and tries to convince him to kill himself. The police arrive, the monster disappears, and they arrest him instead.
  • The boss is working late and notices a dead fish in his fish tank. He grabs a mysterious cube from his shelf, sucks something out of it with a syringe, injects the fish with it, and the fish comes back to life when he puts it into the tank.
  • Derek shows Parks the security footage where it’s revealed that the cashier is the one who tried to destroy the camera and not Kat. They show up to his house to investigate. his room is covered in newspaper clippings with stories about the black angel, and a journal filled with nonsense ramblings asking for forgiveness. He freaks out and attacks them when they discover this, he knicks parks in the neck with a paring knife, and they arrest him. meanwhile, the monster is standing in his kitchen, taking fruit out of his fruit bowl.
Episode 11 Dolonia
  • Kat and Mortem wake up cuddling on the couch and they make pancakes together. Kat reveals how difficult it is for him to maintain relationships. Mortem agrees to be Kat’s listening ear.
Episode 12 Karma police
  • Parks and Derek try to interview Sullivan (the cashier,) but the monster gets to him first. The lights go out and his body is left hanging from the ceiling by his own belt.
  • The mother of the teenager who was initially shot by Kat has a breakdown to Heather about the police department not doing their jobs and continuing to allow Kat to run loose. Heather calms her down and another police officer removes her. Heather and Derek talk about their disdain for the system and plan on doing something outside of it. Heather is reluctant and cynical, Derek thinks it’s a fun game.
  • Boss calls Landon to ask if there’s anything that Kat is hiding. Landon denies it, but is frustrated by Kat’s antics and wants to get rid of Mortem. He meets up with Ayden and Nasri at a diner. Ayden seems frustrated that Mortem doesn’t like her despite them barely interacting. Landon suggests throwing a surprise party to “get on his good side“ but really he thinks if he can get Kat riled up enough that he’ll just kill Mortem himself.
